The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat is an independent, volunteer-run lifeboat service dedicated to keeping people safe on Loch Lomond and its surrounding shores.

Founded in 1977 thanks to a generous donation from an unknown sailor, the Rescue Boat has been providing a vital service to the local community and visitors to the loch for almost five decades.

Today, our dedicated volunteer crew responds to around 100 callouts every year, often facing challenging and unpredictable conditions. On particularly busy days, the team can be called upon several times in a day. 

The Rescue Boat responds to a wide range of incidents throughout the year, providing vital assistance to those in need on and around Loch Lomond. Callouts include mechanical breakdowns, medical emergencies, stranded persons, and a variety of other incidents requiring assistance on the water.

Whatever the situation, our dedicated volunteer crew is ready to respond, providing help and support when it is needed most.

The Rescue Boat is operated entirely by volunteers and relies on the generosity of donations to continue its lifesaving work. Every contribution helps us maintain our boat and equipment, train our volunteers, and remain ready to respond whenever we are needed.
